This is a quick copycat MOD pizza that comes together quickly. It tastes great and can be personalized to your liking. These little pizzas only take eight minutes to cook and minutes to prepare. Kids and adults alike will love them.
Copycat Mod Pizza Preparations
You will need a cookie sheet lined with foil. I place two tortillas per cookie sheet. You do not want to grease the sheet as it will make the tortilla soft instead of crispy. I use foil, so I don’t have to clean the cookie sheet. You could place the tortilla straight on a non-stick cookie sheet.
Next Step to the Pizza of Your Making
Now you need to poke holes into the tortilla. Poke holes all over the tortilla. If you do not poke holes, the tortilla will bubble up, and your toppings will slide off.
Pizza Sauce for Your Mod Pizza
Now add the pizza sauce to your copycat Mod pizza. I buy the jar of pizza sauce from the grocery store. If you do not have pizza sauce, you can use marinara in its place. Next, you will spread the sauce around almost to the edge. It is good to leave just a tiny amount without sauce to hold your slices. Doing it just to the rim creates a “crust.”
Cheese Choices
Now is the time to add the cheese. I use mozzarella cheese. You could add any cheese: provolone, asiago, parmesan, etc. I have added too much in the past. You do not want to cover the tortilla with too much cheese because it will not allow it to crisp up. It is hard to melt the cheese when you have too much, and the tortilla stays floppy. Who wants a floppy pizza slice?
Toppings for Made-on-Demand Pizzas
I am a straight pepperoni gal, with occasional mushrooms added to the top. You can customize your toppings. I usually precook the pepperoni in e microwave on paper towels for 30 seconds to get some grease out. I did not always do this. It is to void extra fatty grease in my food.
Bake
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees. Baking these little pizzas works best on ungreased aluminum foil on a cookie sheet. Bake it for eight minutes. You should see the cheese bubbling and the pizza looking yummy when the time is up. Simply place it on your plate and cut it with a pizza cutter.

This is super easy and can be personalized to your liking. I have been making these all of my adult life. When I was 12, my cousin showed us how to make these, and I have been fixing and creating them ever since.
Sometimes, when I don’t want to heat the oven, I roll them like a burrito and microwave them. This is much different, though, because it does not get the tortilla to crisp up.
If you end up piling a lot of toppings on these, you may need to broil them for a bit after the cooking time. I look and see if it seems like it may need more melting. If you broil it, you must keep a close eye on it. The broil will burn the crust up. Broil does not take very long for these little pizzas.
Picky Eater Options
As a child, I was a very picky eater. Whenever we would go to dinner at someone else’s house, my mom was always worried that I would be given things to eat that I would not like. She did not want my finicky pallet to hurt the feeling of the hosts.
At my aunt’s one year, they had venison stew, and mom knew I would not like that. So, in her sister-in-law’s kitchen, she whipped up one of these little pizzas for me. I was grateful. Mom could make it easy and not make a big mess preparing it for me.
Simple Copycat Mod Pizza
Ingredients
- pepperoni
- mozzarella cheese shredded
- pizza sauce
- flour tortillas
Instructions
- Line a cookie sheet with foil. Place your flour tortilla on the foil.
- Poke holes in the tortilla with a fork over the entire tortilla. This will prevent air pockets from bubbling up during the baking.
- Spoon the desired amount of pizza sauce onto the flour tortilla. Cover completely, leaving the slightest edge at the edge for a "crust."
- Top the sauce with shredded mozzarella cheese. Do not put on too thick. The flour tortilla will not crisp up if the cheese is too thick.
- Top with your favorite toppings.
- Bake for 8 minutes at 450 degrees.
